HEAD OF LEGAL | Private Bank

We are assisting an important bank, that can count on a solid and long-term presence in the Luxembourgish environment, in the search for their new Head of Legal.
In this role, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of the legal department, providing legal advisory services and ensuring the management of legal, contractual, and regulatory risks.
This bank is part of an international network, that has consolidated subsidiaries in many different EU countries: you could eventually join an independent banking group with outstanding solvency, and help them provide the best service for their customers.
Responsibilities
- identify and mitigate all legal risks
- lead and manage the legal team
- oversee the legal budget
- monitor EU an LUX legal and regulatory environment
- advise the Management on the legal implications of internal policies and procedures
- conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to the different units and departments of the Bank
- act as Secretary of the BoD and guide corporate governance
- write, negotiate, and follow up n the contractual documentation of the Bank
- legal support for clients' complaints including discussions with clients, if required, regarding the bank's legal issues (no direct advice to clients)
- handle client litigation, liaise with external counsel, and advise the Management
- act as DPO and ensure that the data processing is performed in compliance with all applicable data protection regulation
Requirements
- a minimum of 5 years of solid work experience in the banking or wealth management industry in Luxembourg as a Senior / Legal Counsel
- the ability to work under pressure and to respect deadlines
- you are proactive, rigorous, open-minded, and a fast learner by nature
